Digital Water Proof Thermometer

I picked up another tool to add to my cooking Arsenal. I grabbed this waterproof thermometer  off of Amazon after reading reviews, it seemed like a good choice. If you are like me you want to make sure all the meat you cook on your grill or in your smoker or even on your stove or in the oven cook to the proper internal temp. These are great when making steaks and you have people wanting their steaks cooked rare, med rare, or well done, with this a quick stick and you will know what your temp is in a blink of an eye.

I have been wanting something else I could use along side of my other temperature probes I use to monitor internal temps of the meat. Sometimes there will be a variance in temp on the meat probes, I figure this will be my go to so I can see how close in temperature they are.

I go by my internal temp of the meat I smoke or grill in determining when it is done. So my times will always very due to the temps I cook at and the internal temp I am trying to achieve.

I’m going to do a prime rib for Christmas and I definitely want to make sure my temp is correct. I would hate to mess up that yummy piece of meat. Doing some pork spare ribs today figured I would give the new thermometer a try. Looks like it’s time to wrap them , I like to cook the ribs for 3 hours at 185 degrees and then take them off and wrap them and cook for 2 hours at 225 degrees, then i will take them off grill and unwrap them and put my sauce on and put back on grill to finish off not wrapped till they are finished at a temp of 190 degrees can you say yummy.

This definitely helps aid in making sure you reach your proper temp and never over or under cook your meat. I definitely recommend it as a good tool to have on hand.
